Police detectives in Nagalama are investigating a Friday morning raid into the home of fallen Kampala Archdiocese Archbishop Cyprian Kizito Lwanga.
The 1am incident is being treated as a case of robbery.
It happened at at Kyabakadde village, Kyabakadde Parish in Kyampisi Sub-county, Mukono District.
Kampala Metropolitan Police deputy spokesperson Luke Owoyesigyire said the number of thieves that raided Lwanga’s ancestral home numbered about 15.
Owoyesigyire added that the attackers were armed with pangas, sticks and other materials they used to break into the home.
That they also wore plain clothes and face masks.
After cutting the house’s fence, the robbers the entered the home and took off with two mobile phones and about Shs250,000.
They would later tie the victims before leaving.
Police now says it has arrested one of the occupants of the house as a suspect after it emerged he had disappeared during the robbery, only to resurface at about 6am.
