Former ethics and integrity minister Miria Koburunga Matembe says she is convinced that first son Lt Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba launched a presidential bid during his birthday celebrations held last weekend.
On April 23, Kainerugaba held a birthday party at Lugogo Cricket Oval in Kampala.
At the party, Lt Gen Kainerugaba, also the Commander of UPDF Land Forces, unveilled his plan for Ugandan youth. (Read Story Here).

According to Matembe, the first son’s birthday celebrations were national in character and cannot just be taken lightly.
To bolster her judgement, Matembe noted that not even President Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni has ever held such a mega national birthday party, meaning, in her estimation, that there could have been something extraordinary.
“I have never heard Museveni celebrating his birthday nationally. Why should a young man celebrate his birthday nationally? This was the launch of Muhoozi’s Presidential bid,” Matembe told NBS Frontline.
