It was during this dinner that Museveni revealed how he started to call Muhoozi Muwooji.
The name has everything to do with Museveni’s neighbor during exile in Tanzania.
“You, people, call him Muhoozi but I call him Muwooji because while in exile in Dar-es-Salaam, our neighbour was Gen Tito Okello (RIP), he couldn’t pronounce the name Muhoozi. Gen Tito would say Mama Muwooji while referring to Mama Janet,” explained Museveni.
“Unfortunately, he is not here, but I am happy to be here with his son Okello (Oryem). Okello was a teenager when Muhoozi was a child and would stay with Muhoozi and siblings while we were away.”
The president previously explained the meaning of the name Muhoozi. (Read Story Here).
