President Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni has announced the appointment of former Kasese Municipality Mayor Kabbyanga Godfrey Baluku Kime as a minister.
Museveni named a new cabinet on June 08.
But Museveni later realized Kasese was left out of the appointments, yet it is a key district he is keen on winning over from the opposition.
Delivering his remarks after junior planning minister designate Amos Lugoloobi read the 2021/22 financial year’s budget speech, Museveni revealed he had included Kabyanga.
But he had sent the list to his principal private secretary Kenneth Omona who forwarded it to an office secretary to type it.
The president believes Kabyanga’s name must have been removed in the process of typing the list before he released it.
He insisted Kasese must have a minister, and has promised to send a cabinet list that includes Kabyanga’s name to Speaker of Parliament Jacob Oulanyah.
NRM’s Kabyanga lost the mayoral election to Chance Sibyavugha Kahindo of the FDC.
